Daniel and Celia Wilson (danielandcelia)  > Travel > Bad Things
As some of you know, travelling isn´t all fun and games. Someone has suggested that we create a photo gallery of the not so great bits of our adventures. He wondered if this made him a bad person - it may well do, but we liked the idea anyway.

So here by popular demand are the bad things in our honeymoon. (We hope the gallery doesn't get too big!)

Daniel and Celia Wilson (danielandcelia) > Rubbish

There is so much rubbish everywhere here. The place is so beautiful, but the local people don't really get that you shouldn't throw your finished food wrappers out of the window. There are piles of rubbish so big by the side of the road they have 20 or 30 vultures hovering over them. Nice.
Daniel and Celia Wilson (danielandcelia) > Central American Showers

This is an example of a "hot" shower. The only time you get hot is when the convulsions start because of the uncovered wires hanging down. The best ones also have metal tap so you can't avoid a shock. Best way to get rid of gringos, apparently.
Daniel and Celia Wilson (danielandcelia) > Chicken bus luggage storage

Putting a backpack on the top of a chicken bus is always fun. Will it still be there when you get off the bus? Will all your stuff be in it? This photo shows a selection of our equipment that took two days to dry afer we drove through a torrential downpour with nothing covering the luggage on top.
Daniel and Celia Wilson (danielandcelia) > Wildlife

Much of the wildlife in Central America is interesting to look at and gratifyingly scared of humans. However, there are exceptions.

The bug above is the squashed remains of a tick we found on Celia's leg. After much shaking and screaming, Daniel got his shit together, and organised a trip to the doctor. As Celia got dressed, the tick (about the size of a smartie at this point) fell off, and she promptly stood on it.
Daniel and Celia Wilson (danielandcelia) > Apparently one of the most beautiful church facades in Mexico. Hmmph.
Daniel and Celia Wilson (danielandcelia) > Rainy Season started last week. Enough said.
Daniel and Celia Wilson (danielandcelia) > It looks harmless enough, but the fan in our room in Merida, whilst spinning obligingly, didn´t actually move any air around. Meaning we were so hot one of us had to try and sleep under a wet towel, and the other slept with a cold water bottle between their legs.
Daniel and Celia Wilson (danielandcelia) > The Snoring Bastard on the nightbus. There´s always one, he´s always sitting right next to you, and he always sleeps the whole night. Together with his partner in crime, Crying Baby, he ensures we don´t get any sleep at all.
